Job Description
Mine Tech Services (MTS) is a rapidly growing UK and Ukraine based mining consultancy. We are a diverse team of engineers, data scientists and developers who pride ourselves in helping to sustainably solve the key challenges facing the world’s commodity production.
We are looking for an experienced BI reporting developer to join our growing team. Based out of the Ukraine, you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying bespoke dashboards for our clients. In this position you will have the opportunity to liaise directly with end users to obtain requirements as well as having overall ownership of the dashboard design.
Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s business domain knowledge as required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and deploying exceptionally presented business intelligence solutions using PowerBI.
- Create and maintain data models using Power BI Data Modelling Tools.
- Providing Qamp;A support for these models.
- Writing complex SQL/M queries to integrate diverse data sources.
- Optimize and tune Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Gathering, clarifying, and developing requirements with stakeholders
- Participating in scope development.
- Creating and maintaining complete and accurate solution design documents
- Define and follow Power BI development best practices
Requirements
This is a broad role and thus we believe there are no specific qualifications required. However, at a minimum, we are looking for an individual with qualifications amp; experience in:
Must have
- Strong experience with Power BI
- Excellent presentation and data visualization skills.
- Hands on experience with SQL, DAX, Power Query and M language
- Good at gathering requirements and making mock ups
- Comfortable working with clients over remote and possibly face to face meetings.
- Good spoken and written English (B2+)
- Takes strong initiatives and highly result oriented
- Proven experience and passion for facilitating requirements gathering sessions and designing customer facing interfaces (navigation, look, and feel)
- A great eye, able to produce exceptionally presented reporting dashboards
- A good communicator and good listener (there is a consultancy element to the role)
- Experience with source control
- Willingness to travel if needed.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of Tableau is highly desirable and/or Google BigQuery knowledge is a plus
- Developing custom Power BI visuals
- Ability to work with stakeholders to identify and define priorities appropriately
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps
